Lens Treatments

Eyeglass lens treatments make a real difference in what you see, and what you don’t see. Scratches, glare, ultraviolet rays are all potential hazards to healthy vision, all of which can be minimized or eliminated by a lens treatment.

Scratch Resistant
Scratches on lenses are distracting and scratches can interfere with lens performance. Scratch resistant treatments toughen up the lenses making them more durable.

UV Protection
The UV Rays in sunlight can be harmful to the eyes. Lenses that block 100% UV help to ward off various eye conditions and damage.

Anti Reflective
For fashion, comfort and clarity anti-reflective (also called anti-glare) treatments are the way to go. This treatment makes the lens nearly invisible, and cut glare from headlights, computer screens and harsh lighting. Anti reflective treatments are best applied by the manufacturer of the lenses and are available with trade names such as Crizal. These treatments are much more durable than in house treatments.

Polarized Lenses
A high quality pair of sunglasses will usually include polarized lenses. A polarized lens in comparison to a non-polarizes lenses reduces eye strain and improves visual comfort. A polarized lens reduces reflections, eliminates glare, and improves contrast and visual clarity.

Transitions lenses or photochromic lenses darken and change color whenever the wearer goes out into the sunlight. The tint is activated by UV light. Whenever the wearer goes back indoors, the lenses slowly revert back to clear.
